To design, produce and manage a Contemporary Wedding with a Vintage Twist whilst encapsulating the Brides Nationalities of French and Norwegian and the Groom's British Heritage
A clear span marquee to achieve the desired space provided the canvas. The marquee lined in Ivory with an Ivory Carpet became a challenging prospect in cleanliness when positioned beside a Polo Pitch.
A portion of our brief was to introduce green. This was achieved with colour washed up-lighting around the perimeter of the marquee and adding green to the tables in the form of seat pads, foliage into the floral table displays and apple place names.
Catering followed the theme through with a Canape, Champagne and Pimm's reception followed by a combination of typically French, Norwegian and British Dishes for the Wedding Breakfast which included Reindeer Steak and a twist on Apple Crumble with a Trio of Apple Crumble, Apple Crumble Mousse and Apple Crumble Ice Cream served
with Toffee Sauce and Vanilla Custard.
Subtle items were introduced in terms of theme. Granny Smith Apple place names, images relating to each nation as table 'names/numbers', a vintage suitcase provided the table plan, Union Jack door matt's and Toddler booster cushions for chairs to name but a few.
A live band provided the evenings entertainment along with an Opera singer as a surprise for the groom.
Heidi and Matt wanted to have guests take poloroid photographs during the evening. The reception marquee was turned around during the Wedding Breakfast into a chill-out come fun photography studio where guests could dress up in typically French, Norwegian and British items and take photographs of one another in an ornate frame. The photographs were then positioned onto vintage styled card and messages added before being hung on green ribbon with wooden pegs. These messages were later placed into a vintage styled case.
Twinkling lanterns formed a path along the flower beds towards the marquee with further lanterns hung into trees to provide a subtle and beautiful light into the evening.
The evening buffet consisted of a wide variety of cheeses and an abundance of cakes once again reflecting the international theme with a Croqu em Bouche centre piece.
Transport consisted of mini buses for guests provided hourly throughout the evening to escort guests to their hotels whenever they were ready.
A delightful Wedding to design, plan and manage. Heidi and Matt were a pleasure!
